The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG "Bred / Banned" is the first time the "Banned" concept has ever been applied to the Air Jordan 1 Low OG - a milestone release that brings one of Jordan Brand's most documented and most mythologized colorway stories to a silhouette that has never carried it before. The "Banned" concept traces to 2011, when Jordan Brand released a high-top pair at select outlet locations with a specific design detail: a red "X" on the heel, referencing the NBA's documented fining of Michael Jordan for wearing non-compliant footwear during the 1984-85 season. That 2011 release was limited, distributed without announcement, sold below intended retail, and subsequently became one of the most collectible Jordan 1s of the decade. The 2026 low-top brings the red "X" heel detail to the chopped-down format for the first time. The construction stays entirely faithful to the "Bred" color blocking: a premium black leather upper covers the full primary surface, with Varsity Red landing on the perforated toe box, Swoosh, collar edges, laces, and rubber outsole. A Summit White midsole sits between the black upper and red outsole as the colorway's clean structural break. The Nike Air tongue tag confirms the OG Low specification, the Wings logo at the heel sits alongside the red "X" graphic rather than replacing it, and "X" graphics appear on the insoles as well - a detail that differs from the 2011 high-top and is specific to this low-top version. Custom packaging accompanies the release.
