The laser concept has appeared on the Air Jordan 4, 5, 20, and the 2013 and 2015 AJ1 High OG over the years — but the AJ1 Low has never received it, making this the first time the technique lands on the low-top version of Jordan Brand's founding silhouette. Jordan Brand's decision to run both Laser releases in the same August window signals a deliberate moment — a full Laser era revival built around two of the most recognizable shoes in the catalog, arriving together.

The colorway is where the AJ1 Low "Laser" separates itself from every prior laser execution in the brand's history. Previous Laser releases leaned into warm, aged palettes — cream, tan, and gold tones that read like antique parchment. The 2026 AJ1 Low takes a far stealthier approach: a premium Black leather upper forms the base, giving the laser-etched graphics a dramatically different canvas — dark, moody, and high-contrast rather than warm and vintage. The laser-etched MJ imagery, Jordan Brand symbols, and legacy detailing are burned directly into the black leather surface across the toe box, side panels, and heel, creating a tonal effect that shifts from barely visible in low light to richly detailed under direct illumination. Palomino tan leather appears on the lining and accent zones, threading the warmth of prior Laser releases into the build without letting it soften the shoe's dominant dark character.
