The Air Jordan 4 x J Balvin “Amazonas / Lemonade” marks the Colombian artist’s first official interpretation of the AJ4, extending a Jordan Brand partnership that has already moved through the Air Jordan 1, 2, and 3. Inspired by the Colombian Amazon and its wildlife, the release abandons the rainbow-heavy approach associated with some of Balvin’s earlier Jordans for an almost entirely Lemonade Yellow presentation. The defining feature is its crocodile-textured leather upper, which gives the AJ4’s familiar paneling a reptilian surface and connects the construction directly to the Amazonas theme. Tonal Yellow spreads across the mesh, TPU wings, molded eyelets, laces, lining, and much of the tooling, allowing differences in texture and finish to create depth within the monochromatic palette. Balvin’s Colombian identity appears through mismatched metallic lace dubraes reading “JUST DO IT.” and “SOLO HAZLO.”, presenting Nike’s famous phrase in English and Spanish. The asymmetry continues at the heels, where Nike Air branding and Balvin’s signature upside-down smiley face divide the pair, while collaborative Jumpman and J Balvin details appear throughout. Even the visible Air unit receives a Yellow-tinted treatment, reinforcing the head-to-toe concept. Bold without depending on complicated color blocking, “Amazonas / Lemonade” turns one of Jordan Brand’s most recognizable silhouettes into a textured tribute to Balvin’s Colombian roots.
