The Nike KD 6 "Illusion / All-Star" is the 2026 retro of the colorway Kevin Durant wore during his fifth NBA All-Star Game appearance in 2014 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans - the shoe's original release was part of Nike Basketball's "NOLA Gumbo League" collection, a themed series that used Mardi Gras and Louisiana cultural identity as the design framework for the 2014 All-Star Weekend in New Orleans. The "Illusion" name refers to the colorway's graphic-driven upper treatment, which uses a multicolor pattern across the KD 6's synthetic TPU textile upper in a combination of bold hues - Green Glow providing the most vivid single accent against a predominantly dark base. The construction is the KD 6's standard specification: a synthetic TPU textile upper with asymmetrical front lacing - the KD 6's most immediately distinctive technical detail, the lace loop positioned to the medial side rather than centered, a design decision Durant made to accommodate his preference for a specific ankle entry angle. A composite foam midsole delivers Zoom Air cushioning underfoot, and a translucent rubber outsole closes the build. The KD 6's distinctive silhouette profile - low to the ground, wide at the forefoot, designed around Durant's specific low-cut preference - remains entirely intact in the 2026 retro.
