The Air Jordan 4 Retro "Georgetown Hoyas" is a February 27, 2027 release that applies Georgetown Hoyas-inspired colors to Tinker Hatfield's 1989 design — a palette choice carrying specific biographical weight, as Georgetown's Patrick Ewing was among the players Michael Jordan faced when his North Carolina Tar Heels won the 1982 NCAA Championship on a Jordan jumper, establishing one of college basketball's most storied rivalry moments. The colorway does not carry official Georgetown University licensing or school branding — it's Jordan Brand's tribute interpretation of the Hoyas' signature grey-and-navy palette, closer in concept to the program's 2019 Air Jordan 4 Player Exclusives than a licensed university collaboration. Pewter Grey nubuck covers the full primary upper surface across the AJ4's standard construction — the matte, slightly textured nubuck providing a premium surface quality in the cool grey that gives the shoe its Georgetown-adjacent reading.
