The Nike Air Foamposite Pro "UNC University Blue" is the 2026 retro of a colorway first produced in January 2003 - the earliest and most collected entry in the Foamposite Pro's University Blue catalog, and one of the few non-performance colorways to give the Foamposite Pro a connection to collegiate culture beyond court application. The Foamposite Pro was designed by Eric Avar in 1997 as a performance evolution of the original Foamposite One, introducing the three-dimensional lateral Swoosh as the model's most immediately distinguishing structural element - a sculptural, oversized Swoosh that reads as three-dimensional against the shell's surface rather than as a flat branding application. The 2026 retro stays entirely faithful to the 2003 construction. The full Foamposite shell is rendered in University Blue - the signature powder blue associated with the University of North Carolina and with Michael Jordan's own collegiate identity - in a matte, slightly cool finish that differs from the brighter, more saturated blues in other Foamposite colorways. White synthetic leather detailing lands on the eyestay and collar, providing the clean material contrast against the blue shell that keeps the colorway readable across the full upper. A white Swoosh sits on the lateral side panel in the standard Foamposite Pro profile, and the concealed foam midsole delivers full-length Zoom Air cushioning with a stacked second Zoom Air unit in the heel - the Foamposite Pro's performance-specific cushioning platform that distinguishes it from the Foamposite One. A carbon fiber midfoot shank provides structural stability, and a white rubber outsole with herringbone traction pods closes the build underfoot in the original 2003 specification. Midnight Navy appears as the outsole accent color.
