A black leather upper covers the full primary surface of the Air Jordan 12's construction, and Night Purple arrives on the textured mudguard and sole sections as the colorway's regal secondary tone. The side panels are laser-etched with a wave graphic referencing Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa — the most famous image in Japanese art history, rendered in laser-etched format as a surface detail that confirms the shoe's cultural specificity at every angle. Japanese Kanji characters replace the standard "23" branding on the tongues, and a Japanese family crest-inspired mon design replaces the traditional Jumpman logo at the tongue — the heraldic crest referencing the specific Japanese mon tradition rather than any generic Japan motif.
