The Air Jordan 4 Retro "Black Laser" is the first retro of its August 2005 original — the darker and more understated half of the 2027 Laser Pack, releasing February 1 alongside the "White Laser" in a confirmed two-pair package after more than twenty years away from retail. The same laser-etching process that defines both Laser colorways burns Michael Jordan career-biography graphics directly into the premium leather upper across every panel — the heat-etched recessed technique creating intricate scorched patterns from his six championships, Dream Team gold, and Bulls-era milestones that sit below the leather's surface plane in a permanent, tactile graphic program. On the "Black Laser," the dark leather ground makes the etched graphics visible primarily through texture and shadow rather than contrast — patterns catching ambient light at certain angles and receding into the base at others, giving the shoe a sophisticated stealth character the white version cannot achieve. Varsity Red lands on the lace system, inner tongue lining, and back of the tongue as the colorway's most vivid departure from the dark palette. Medium Grey hits the heel panel and select midsole sections as the cool structural accent at the shoe's rearmost zone. Light green eyelets provide the "Black Laser's" most specific hardware detail — the pale mint at the eyelet hardware differentiating this pair from its white counterpart within the pack.
