The Air Jordan 14 Retro x MOWALOLA "Metallic Gold" is the first Jordan Brand collaboration from British-Nigerian designer Mowalola Ogunlesi — a Lagos-via-London creative whose boundary-dissolving approach to fashion has made her one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary luxury design — and the most fashion-forward treatment the Air Jordan 14 has ever received from an outside collaborator. Tinker Hatfield designed the original AJ14 around the Ferrari 550 Maranello, giving the silhouette its sculpted midsole, aggressive low-slung profile, and lateral Jumpman shield — all construction elements Mowalola leaves entirely intact while transforming every surface above them. A richly textured Burnt Red leather upper covers the full shoe in a weathered, aged finish that shifts between deep burgundy and warm brown depending on the light — a deliberately premium, artisanal surface quality that reads as handcrafted rather than production-standard. Mowalola's signature rendered in Metallic Gold cursive runs the lateral side panel — a branding application that adapts the motorsport-era Metallic Gold detailing of the AJ14's original design language into a personal mark rather than a product logo, the cursive script in direct conversation with the Ferrari heritage of the silhouette it crosses. A high-gloss black midsole grounds the Burnt Red upper with a lacquered automotive finish, the Ferrari shield badge at the lateral ankle remaining untouched in its original position. A carbon fiber midfoot shank plate and the AJ14's sculpted rubber outsole complete the performance foundation beneath a shoe that debuted on the runway at Paris Fashion Week before reaching retail.
