The Air Jordan 5 Retro x SoleFly "Black / Aurora Green" is the first time Miami boutique SoleFly has collaborated with Jordan Brand on the Air Jordan 5 — extending a partnership that has produced some of the most design-forward Jordan collabs of the last decade, beginning with the Art Basel Air Jordan 1 and continuing through the 2025 "Fruits of Our Labor" Air Jordan 3 — and the one that makes the most considered construction changes to the AJ5's DNA of any prior SoleFly release. A premium black suede upper covers the full primary surface of the shoe, giving Tinker Hatfield's WWII fighter jet-inspired silhouette a matte, absorptive base that reads as stealthy and controlled rather than decorative — the Anthracite undertone in the suede adding depth beyond a flat black. Aurora Green hits land on the tongue Jumpman and internal detailing with the specific shade of electric green that carries unmistakable Miami Hurricanes energy without requiring any explicit logo to make the reference legible. The most significant design departure from the standard AJ5 construction is the revised lacing system — the laces wrap around the heel before tying at the front, a structural rerouting that subtly changes how the entire silhouette reads from the lateral and medial angles. "SF" branding replaces the traditional "23" on the lateral heel, while Nike Air branding remains at the heel in its standard position. Orange interior lining provides the colorway's third color accent, visible only on the foot. A Muslin outsole and custom SoleFly hangtag with special packaging complete the build.
