The Air Jordan 13 Retro "Chicago Bulls / True Red" is the third retail retro of the colorway Michael Jordan wore through his final championship season with the Chicago Bulls in 1997-98 - the shoe on his feet when he hit the jumper over Bryon Russell in Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, the moment that served as the defining image of his career and of the AJ13's legacy simultaneously. The "True Red" is also known colloquially as "Chicago" and "Cherry," three names for the same colorway that has appeared at retail only twice before this 2026 release, making it one of the most selectively retroed OG Air Jordan 13 colorways in the catalog. Tinker Hatfield designed the AJ13 around the black panther - an animal Jordan was frequently compared to for his agility and stealth on the court - and the silhouette's most distinctive design details all reference that concept: the paw-print rubber outsole, the holographic "cat-eye" emblem on the lateral collar, and the sculpted heel that mimics feline musculature. The 2026 retro applies the OG construction spec to all of these details without alteration. A dimpled white tumbled leather upper covers the primary surface in the densely textured pattern that gives the AJ13 its tactile quality and visual depth, while True Red suede panels wrap the midsole section and heel in the bold accent color that has defined this colorway since 1997. Black accents ground the lace zone, toe overlay, and lining, and the holographic Jumpman heel emblem and paw-print outsole complete the build in the original specification.
