The Air Jordan 14 Retro "Chartreuse" is the first-ever retro of the 2005 "Graphite Chartreuse" colorway — which was itself the first Air Jordan 14 ever retroed, making the 2027 return the retro of a retro that broke ground in its own era. The 2027 version stays close to the 2005 original with one confirmed update: the shape has been refined, a modern retooling of the AJ14's aerodynamic profile that improves everyday wearability while preserving the silhouette's essential character. Tinker Hatfield designed the original 1998 Air Jordan 14 directly inspired by Michael Jordan's Ferrari 550 Maranello — the car's aerodynamic body lines, low-slung proportions, and chassis-style detailing translated into footwear form, with the Ferrari badge logo reproduced on the ankle collar. A Light Graphite nubuck upper covers the full primary surface of the AJ14's layered panel construction — the matte, slightly textured nubuck providing a premium, understated base in the cool grey that reads as closer to suede than smooth leather. Black lands on the midsole, heel counter, tongue lining, and rubber outsole as the structural anchoring that makes the Chartreuse accents read with maximum contrast. Chartreuse — the electric yellow-green that sits precisely at the intersection of yellow and green — arrives on the spine detail, tongue branding, Jumpman badge at the ankle collar, and select outsole sections. A chrome midfoot shank plate visible along the lateral midsole completes the build in the same silver finish as the 2005 original.
