The Air Jordan 4 Retro OG "Bred" is the most construction-faithful version of the most retroed Air Jordan 4 colorway ever produced — the seventh release of the Black and Fire Red palette that Tinker Hatfield introduced in 1989 and that MJ wore during the 1989 NBA All-Star Game and the first round of the 1989 Playoffs, including "The Shot" over Craig Ehlo. Every prior retro has carried at least one material, shape, or branding deviation from the original; the 2026 build corrects all of them simultaneously. A premium black nubuck upper covers the full primary surface — dense, matte, and properly textured — replacing the full leather construction of the 2024 "Reimagined" and restoring the material the original 1989 pairs were built around. White panel edges run the perimeter of every upper section, a detail absent from the 2019 retro that has been the most consistently cited gap between that pair and a truly OG-accurate build. The OG silhouette shape has been restored using the refined proportions Jordan Brand developed through the Air Jordan 4 SB in 2023 — delivering a slimmer toe box and cleaner panel cuts that match the 1989 mold more faithfully than any prior retro. Cement Grey lace cages, hardware, and sockliner carry the colorway's structural accent tone, while Fire Red hits land on the tongue tag, tongue back, inner lining, and outsole. Nike Air branding returns to the heel tab — the OG spec detail restored in 2019 and confirmed again for 2026 — alongside Nike branding on the outsole. A visible Air unit in the heel and the classic MJ face box packaging complete the build.
