The Air Jordan 7 Retro "Tennis Day" is the most cross-sport conceptually rich colorway in the AJ7's 2026 calendar — a new colorway that draws directly from the Nike Air Tech Challenge 2, the 1990 tennis shoe Tinker Hatfield designed for Andre Agassi that shattered the sport's all-white dress code with neon hits, aggressive color blocking, and a rule-breaking attitude that mirrored Agassi's own on-court persona. The connection is not only thematic but biographical: Hatfield designed both the Air Jordan 7 in 1992 and the Air Tech Challenge 2 in 1990 within the same creative period, making "Tennis Day" a tribute from one Hatfield silhouette to another. A Phantom mixed-material upper covers the primary surface — smooth leather overlays, textured suede sections, and breathable mesh underlays combining across the AJ7's sculpted upper panels in a warm off-white base that provides the neutral ground the neon accents need to land with full intensity. Lemon Twist and Pink Blast arrive across the jagged midsole, tongue lining, and heel pull tabs — the two colors that most directly echo Agassi's Air Tech Challenge II palette and give the shoe its saturated neon-court-sport identity.
