The Air Jordan 3 Retro x Levi's "Rigid Denim" is the most foundationally Levi's-coded of the four colorways in the 2026 collection - a pair built around selvedge raw denim rather than washed, distressed, or bleached fabric, referencing the specific textile tradition that established Levi's as a quality denim producer before mass manufacturing changed how jeans were made. Raw selvedge denim is unwashed and untreated after production, stiffer and darker than the broken-in denim of the collection's other colorways, the indigo sitting deep and saturated at first wear before fading and creasing uniquely over time according to the wearer's own movement patterns - a denim philosophy that mirrors the sneaker collector's relationship to deadstock, unworn product. The "Rigid Denim" was first spotted on Spike Lee courtside at Madison Square Garden ahead of its official announcement - the culturally loaded first sighting connecting the colorway immediately to New York and to Knicks culture without any deliberate design reference. The upper applies the dark indigo selvedge denim across the primary panels and replaces the AJ3's elephant print overlays at the toe and heel with the same rigid denim material, the construction maintaining the AJ3's panel logic while eliminating every surface material that existed on the original 1988 build. Black accents and a white midsole below complete the build, while the Levi's Red Tab stitched to the denim overlay at the heel and a Gym Red Jumpman tongue logo provide the collaboration's dual branding in the same restrained placement used across all four colorways in the pack.
