The "Butter" name and colorway draw a direct line to Timberland's iconic "Wheat" boot - the specific warm, honey-toned off-white that Timberland's most enduring colorway produces - applied to the SHAI 001's completely unconventional silhouette construction. The SHAI 001 is unlike any previous Converse or basketball shoe: a futuristic unibody molded construction features a puffed upper and winged shroud that locks down with a zipper, eliminating the traditional visible lacing system entirely and creating the most aerodynamically sealed basketball shoe construction in Converse's history. The "Butter" tone covers the full monochromatic upper - shell, shroud, zipper pull, collar, and midsole - in the same warm honey-cream without any accent or contrasting detail, the total monochrome execution establishing the design philosophy that every subsequent SHAI 001 colorway follows.
