The Mind 001 is not a recovery slide and not a performance shoe: it is specifically engineered for the pregame window, the period between locker room and tip-off when physical and mental preparation intersect. The shoe's defining functional element is its 22 individually articulated outsole nodes - large, raised foam projections that press upward against the plantar surface of the foot with each step, engaging the thousands of mechanoreceptors in the foot's sole and activating sensory areas of the brain in the way Nike's research identifies as optimal for pregame presence and focus. A stretchy fabric footbed gives the nodes room to move freely with each step while maintaining a soft underfoot feel, and a soft foam midsole provides the cushioning foundation beneath the node-equipped outsole. The upper is a smooth, molded black construction with perforations for airflow - the Black colorway giving the Mind 001's unusual silhouette its most understated and most versatile appearance of the four launch options. A Chrome Swoosh at the lateral side provides the one metallic detail against the matte black upper, and the node-equipped outsole runs in Hyper Crimson - the bright accent color that makes the 22 nodes visible from below and confirms the shoe's identity when lifted off the ground.
